Mass. hiker rescued after fall on Mount Washington

MOUNT WASHINGTON — A Massachusetts man suffered a serious cut on his head after falling about 20 feet while hiking on Mount Washington, according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

Richard White, 57, of Weston, Mass., fell while hiking on the Huntington Ravine trail about 1 p.m. Wednesday, a Fish and Game release said. Rescuers used a rope to pull White back up to the trail. Other hikers in his group bandaged his head and walked him to the Mount Washington road, where a van took him down the mountain and to an ambulance, the release said.
