Brad Glenn’s first-inning grand slam sparked the visiting New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 7-5 win over the Reading Phillies in Reading, Pa., Sunday night in Eastern League play.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for New Hampshire (30-49), which faces Reading (46-34) again Monday and Tuesday night at 7:05 before returning home for a three-game series with Portland.

Brian Bocock’s fielder’s choice, Ryan Goins’ single and Mike McDade’s walk loaded the bases with one out in the first. Glenn pounded a Mario Hollands offering over the left field wall for a 4-0 New Hampshire lead. The blast was Glenn’s ninth of the year.

Hollands, who took the loss, pitched six complete, giving up six earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts and four walks. In the third, Hollands gave up a two-run shot to Mark Sobolewski for a 6-1 Fisher Cats advantage. Sobolewski and Glenn each finished with two hits.

Brian Van Kirk’s RBI single in the top of the eighth scored McDade with New Hampshire’s seventh run.

The Phillies scored twice in the third and eighth innings to make it 7-5.

In the third, the first Reading run came in on a fielder’s choice while the other crossed on Leandro Castro’s two-out double. The Phillies tried to score a third run in the inning but leftfielder John Tolisano hit shortstop Ryan Goins with the cutoff throw and Goins fired a strike to Fisher Cat catcher Jack Murphy for a tag at the plate.

Cesar Hernandez doubled home the initial Reading run in the fifth before Brandon Tripp’s sacrifice fly to left scored Jiwan James.

Winning pitcher John Stilson (2-1) pitched the first five innings for New Hampshire giving up three runs (one earned) on three hits with two strikeouts and four walks. Scott Gracey pitched a pair of scoreless relief innings before Aaron Loup got roughed up for the two runs in the eighth.

Sam Dyson got the last out in the eighth and had a 1-2-3 inning in the ninth for his third save of the season.
