Countrywide gave lawmakers, officials hundreds of discount loans

Former Fannie Mae heads James Johnson in 2008 resigned as a leader of then-candidate Barack Obama's vice presidential search committee after The Wall Street Journal reported he had received $7 million in Countrywide discounted loans. Fannie employees were the most frequent recipients of VIP loans.
