Pelham man pleads guilty to disorderly conduct
NASHUA — A Pelham man, who was arrested after a 36-hour armed standoff in January 2011, pleaded guilty Friday in Hillsborough County Superior Court South to a disorderly conduct charge and will pay restitution of $35,000 to the Pelham Police Department.
George Labonte, 73, of 4 Jones Road, was sentenced to 11 months in the House of Corrections, with all but 60 days of time served suspended for two years of good behavior.
The restitution will be paid from Labonte's $50,000 cash bail. He is also ceding to his son, George Labonte Jr., ownership of all firearms and ammunition held by the Pelham Police Department.
As part of the plea agreement, Hillsborough County Attorney Dennis Hogan said two class A misdemeanors of criminal threatening and resisting arrest were not pressed. Labonte was arrested at his home after a 36-hour armed standoff during which Pelham Police were assisted by a number of other agencies, including the Southern New Hampshire Special Reaction Team, Nashua, Hudson, Londonderry and New Hampshire State Police.
A grand jury had indicted Labonte on two class B felonies of criminal threatening and reckless conduct.
