'Village Vision' session planned for Moultonborough
MOULTONBOROUGH — The dates and schedule for the town’s upcoming PLAN NH Community Charrette have been set.
The two-day charrette — an intensive planning process — will bring together community members with professional volunteers to work on issues related to the town’s village center and potential for revitalization. The sessions will be held Friday, July 20 through Saturday, July 21.
The public is invited to attend Friday’s session at the Moultonborough Lion’s Club. A public listening session is scheduled from 3:30 to 5 p.m., with a free community ham and bean supper from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m., followed by a second listening session from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Saturday’s session will be held at Moultonborough Academy. The Plan NH professional volunteer team will develop a conceptual plan from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; concurrently, a workshop will be held from 9 to 11 a.m.
The Moultonborough Village Plan community presentation is scheduled from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The charrette will be led by Plan NH executive board member Roger Hawk, who will organize a team of planners, engineers, architects and other specialists to work with the community to examine the present and future uses of the traditional village center and its potential for revitalization, according to Town Planner Bruce Woodruff.
Woodruff said, “This event will be a great chance for both professionals and citizens to weigh in and work on a Village Vision for Moultonborough that balances the past with the future and the community needs of residents, businesses, schools and those that simply travel through.”
All Moultonborough residents and property owners are urged to save the date and plan to participate in this community event. Prior to Friday’s session, Plan NH team members will tour the town, walk the village area and collect data.
