LOUDON – Among the vendors setting up shop for this weekend's races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon is a company that sells authentic, NASCAR driver-used souvenirs — from the drivers' own cars.

Besides selling fan memorabilia like Jeff Gordon hats, and Tony Stewart shirts, you can buy pieces of race cars — roofs, tires, and wheels — from past races The tractor-trailer and tents from K & K Kollectibles of Wind Gap, Penn., are parked outside the fences at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this week.

The tents are surrounded with advertising-laden car sections that company employees have purchased after past NASCAR races, said Tom Gibson of Bristol, Tenn., a K & K employee tending the tents Wednesday.

“They are the actual parts from the actual cars, mostly from the wrecks,” Gibson said.

Many of the car parts can be identified with drivers by their painted numbers and sponsors names, he said.

How much do these large souvenirs cost?

Well, that depends on whose car it was. Among the most expensive parts are those used by NASCAR favorite Dale Earnhardt, Jr., whom Gibson refers to as “Junior.”

“Most of the hoods are $100, but it depends on the name of the driver. If you want something from one of Junior's cars, it may run you upwards of $500,” he said.

Used NASCAR tires are $20, or with the rims they are $79. Among those items are parts once belonging to driver Elliott Sadler, he said.

The company has been selling souvenirs at the raceway for about 10 years, Gibson said. Business has been slower in recent years, though, in part because of changes in NASCAR regulations that Gibson said keeps his company's business outside the track, along the Route 106 roadside. Track officials said they were unaware of such a change.

“Some of it's been the economy, gas prices,” Gibson said.

The company will be setting up five tents along the road before the weekend, he said.
