Sandown man gets 6 months on criminal trespass charge
MANCHESTER — A Sandown man, who said he was waiting for his parole officer to pick him up and return him to prison, pleaded guilty Monday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division to a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass.
William Schoof, 24, of 20 Beechwood Drive, said, “I was at somebody’s house where I wasn’t supposed to be.”
Schoof, whose criminal record includes reckless conduct, assault, violation of probation/parole, receiving stolen property and identity fraud, said, “I just got out on parole.”
Referring to Schoof’s record, Judge Gregory Michael said, “Where are we headed with this?”
Michael then accepted the sentence recommendation from police prosecutor Steven Mangone of six months in jail, with all but seven days suspended, to be served concurrently with any prison time.
Prosecutor Mangone requested $2,000 cash/surety bail for a man already being held on $100,000 cash/surety bail.
Ethan Tessier, 30, of 45 Log St., could enter no plea to a felony charge of forgery that alleges he forged a check in November 2011 and sought to cash it at Service Credit Union. He pleaded innocent to misdemeanor charges of issuing a bad check and receiving stolen property.
Mangone said he requested the low bail because Tessier is being held on the higher bail on an April robbery charge and ecause that charge and robbery and theft charges from Dec. 25, 2011, and Jan. 11 and 13, 2012, have been bound over to the Hillsborough South Grand Jury.
Judge Michael set bail at the requested amount. A probable cause hearing on the felony and status hearings on the misdemeanors were set for July 31.
A bail revocation hearing is scheduled for Tuesday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division for Tyrel Welch, 19, of 18 Davignon St., Goffstown.
Welch was arraigned Monday in circuit court on two stalking charges that allege he went to a Grove Street location twice, looking for a woman, despite bail conditions barring him from going within 100 yards of her.
“Does the 100-yard thing go for both of us?” Welch asked. Bail conditions apply only to the defendant.
Police prosecutors filed a motion to revoke Welch’s bail on earlier charges. Welch is scheduled for a probable cause hearing Wednesday on a June 26 felony second-degree assault charge that alleges attempted strangulation of the same woman. Trial is set Oct. 4 on misdemeanor charges of simple assault and criminal mischief that allege he punched the woman in the stomach, back and elsewhere, and that he smashed her Dell laptop and a PlayStation3 at a 99 Eastern Ave. address.
Mark White, 53, of 123 Pleasant St., Monday told Judge Michael that the narcotic found in his vehicle wasn’t his.
White, who is subject to a 72-hour probation/parole hold on 2010 drug convictions, said, “I’ve been out on parole. I’ve been working.”
Prosecutor Mangone requested $10,000 cash/surety bail for White, saying his convictions include drug possession with intent to sell, breach of bail and possession of a controlled drug.
But a woman who identified herself as the mother of White’s children told Judge Michael that White had just dropped off one of their children and had been asked for a ride by someone. “(White) didn’t really know this person,” said the woman, who gave her name as Robin Olsen.
She said White didn’t know the person had drugs with him.
The judge told White that information prompted him to set bail at $5,000 cash/surety, but suggested he be more careful about the people with whom he associates.
A probable cause hearing on the felony was set for July 26, with a status hearing scheduled for the misdemeanor.
