John Tolisano doubled in the ninth inning and galloped home with the eventual winning run on a single by Jake Marisnick as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats defeated New Britain, 6-5, in an Eastern League contest at New Britain Stadium on Tuesday.

The losing pitcher was Edgar Ibarra (2-1), who replaced New Britain starter Aaron Thompson. New Hampshire led 5-2 entering the eighth inning, but the Rock Cats rallied for three runs to tie the game.

New Hampshire reliever Ron Uviedo (4-2) who registered a blown save in the eighth inning, was credited with the win. In the ninth inning, the Rock Cats had two runners on with two outs, but Uviedo got Estarlin De Los Santos to pop out to shortstop Ryan Goins. The Fisher Cats are 38-59 on the season.

Thompson got the no-decision for New Britain, allowing 10 hits in eight innings. He allowed five runs.

New Hampshire opened the game with a 1-0 lead when Marisnick doubled, took third on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly from Goins. The Rock Cats responded with two runs in the home first.

Oswaldo Arcia reached on a two-out single and scored when Chris Colabello doubled to right. Colabello took third on a wild pitch and scored on a base hit from Joe Benson.

In the top of the fourth inning, Mike McDade tied the game with his 15th season homer to left field.

New Hampshire grabbed a 5-2 lead in the sixth inning. McDade was hit by pitch and advanced to second on a single by Brad Glenn. That set the table for Sean Ochinko who homered to left for his fifth round-tripper of the season.

John Stilson started the game for New Hampshire, allowing three hits and two earned runs over five innings. He walked one and fanned three.

New Hampshire couldn’t hold its three-run lead as New Britain tied the game with three runs in the eighth inning. Fisher Cats reliever Matt Daly was greeted rudely in the eighth, giving up a single to Nathan Hanson and a one-out base hit to De Los Santos.

Les Walrond, just signed by the Blue Jays, entered the game and walked Aaron Hicks and Chris Herrmann to force in Hanson. Oswaldo Arcia grounded out to first baseman McDade, allowing De Los Santos to score. Uviedo replaced Walrond and uncorked a wild pitch to plate Hicks for the 5-5 tie after eight innings.

The teams play again Wednesday at noon in New Britain.
