Motorcyclist hurt in Auburn crash
AUBURN — An Auburn motorcyclist was injured when he crashed his bike after a car veered into his lane on 28-Bypass Saturday evening.
Timothy Laplante, 54, was operating his Harley-Davidson southbound near Deer Neck Bridge when a northbound car entered his lane, according to Sgt. Chip Chabot. Laplante took evasive action and crashed the motorcycle, which rolled over on him.
Laplante, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken by ambulance to Elliot Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Chabot said.
Police are looking for the other driver, who left the scene of the crash, Chabot said. The car, which witnesses said was a small black Nissan, may have damage from scraping the guardrail on the driver’s side.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Auburn police at 483-2134 or provide information on-line at auburnpolice.org.
