A Kansas hospital has joined the growing list of medical centers notifying patients they may have been exposed to hepatitis C by a medical technician who was arrested in New Hampshire last week.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has announced that about 460 patients who underwent cardiac procedures at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kans., between May 24, 2010, and Sept. 22, 2010, may have been exposed to the virus.
That's when David M. Kwiatkowski worked as a contract radiology technician in that hospital's cardiac catheterization lab, officials said.
