MANCHESTER— The heart of the Fisher Cats' order collected four hits and drove in a trio of runs to lead New Hampshire over the Erie SeaWolves, 3-2, in Eastern League action on Tuesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Ryan Goins had a pair of base hits, while Kevin Howard and Brad Glenn each had run-scoring knocks. The 3-4-5 combo each recorded an RBI to help the Fisher Cats improve to 42-67.

Ryan Tepera upped his record to 5-1, tossing 5 1/3 innings of two-run ball to earn the victory. The righty recorded six strikeouts, while allowing seven hits and walking just one.

The Fisher Cats struck early in the bottom of the first inning when Goins, who had doubled, was driven in on Howard's single. Erie retaliated in the top of the second when Tony Plagman plated Jordan Lennarton, but New Hampshire scored again in the third and fifth and never relinquished the lead after that.

In the bottom of the third, Goins singled home John Tolisano, who had opened the inning with a single. Goins scored the final run in the fifth when he was knocked in on Glenn's double.

Lennarton drove in Detroit Tigers top prospect Nick Castellanos in the sixth on a double, but the Fisher Cats' relievers held the SeaWolves (48-60) at bay from there.

Michael Dubee, Ron Uviedo, and Sam Dyson combined for 3 2/3 innings of three-hit, shutout ball to close out the game. Dyson earned his fourth save.

Erie starter James Avery (10-8) was tagged with the loss after allowing all three Fisher Cats runs.

The two teams meet for the middle game of the series today at 12:05 p.m. Yohan Pino (5-6, 3.80) is expected to take the mound against southpaw Jared Wesson (6-6, 6.09).
