Software firm expands from Mass. to Nashua
NASHUA — A global software company is expanding its operations into Nashua and plans to employ about 150 workers.
Aspen Technology Inc., which is headquartered in Burlington, Mass., is now leasing office space at 100 Innovation Way, the company announced this week.
“This is a great facility on Innovation Way. We are looking to have access to a good employee base there, and it really is not that far from our Burlington headquarters,” said David Grip, senior director of communication for Aspen Technology.
The company is leasing about 41,000 square feet in Nashua and workers are expected to begin operations from the new office in a few weeks, according to Grip. A combination of existing staff and new hires will be housed in the Nashua facility, said Grip, adding the employee count in Burlington will not change.
“We are continuing to hire, and we are doing very well,” said Grip, explaining the business is growing globally in response to its products.
AspenTech is a supplier of software that optimizes process manufacturing for energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, engineering and construction, and other industries that manufacture and produce products from a chemical process.
Grip said software engineers, quality assurance specialists and products-related employees will be operating from the new Nashua office. The company is focused on new products and committed to research and development, he said.
“New Hampshire is a great place to grow our company. It's a low cost state, we have the right building that offers great amenities and access to a new labor market, yet still close enough to our offices in Burlington,” said Mark Fusco, president and chief executive officer.
Gov. John Lynch said he is pleased with AspenTech's decision to expand into the Granite State.
“This is further evidence that our state remains one of the most business-friendly states in the nation,” Lynch said in a release. “I have great respect for Mark Fusco and his team, and we look forward to continuing to work with AspenTech here in New Hampshire.”
Grip said the company is devoted to making innovative products that will benefit organizations and businesses worldwide and also right here in New England.
“We are looking forward to this move, and we are really excited,” he said.
