Concord U12 Dragons take second place
The Concord-area U12 ASA Dragons took second-place in a Lowell, Mass. softball tournament, losing to the Maine Thunder in the title game.
The game was called in the bottom of the second inning due to rain with the Dragons on top 1-0, but the Thunder were awarded the victory because of their tournament run differential.
Jamie Cookingham drove in the game's only run, plating Hooksett's Ali Nelson, who had doubled.
Dragons win Nor'Easter Classic
The U12 ASA Dragons defeated the U12 Hurricanes red team 7-1 in the title game to finish a successful weekend in Belmont.
The Dragons previously defeated the Hurricanes 10-2, the Rhode Island Lighting 16-0, and lost to the Boston Batbusters 5-2 earlier in the tournament.
Maddy Rabideau and Ali Nelson combined to toss a three-inning perfect game in the win over the Lightning.
