Merrimack Chamber unveils first-ever visitor's guide

MERRIMACK — The Merrimack Chamber of Commerce has unveiled the town’s first-ever Merrimack Visitor’s Guide, which is now available to the public.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the product. The end result actually exceeded our expectations,” said Deb Courtemanche, executive director of the Chamber.

With about five million visitors expected to travel to Merrimack each year now that the Merrimack Premium Outlets are open, the Chamber wanted to find a way to market and promote the town in a positive light.

More than 200 attractions, businesses and organizations are featured in the 38-page booklet packed with information on what to do and where to stay, eat and shop in Merrimack and surrounding communities.

“Already we have received tremendous feedback about the magazine. Everyone is eager to look it over, and the town seems pleased with how it represents Merrimack,” said Courtemanche.

The front cover of the Visitor’s Guide features the front entrance of the Anheuser-Busch Brewery Tour. Highlighted throughout the colorful booklet is Merrimack Premium Outlets, Brookstone, Residence Inn by Marriott, Swan Chocolates, the Clydesdale team, Homestead Restaurant, Fidelity Investments, Kids Kove and more.

There is a page devoted to Merrimack folklore and historical facts about Matthew Thornton and the Merrimack Historical Society. Personal notes from Courtemanche and Police Chief Mark Doyle are also included in the guide, which is free and available to the public at various locations throughout town.

The Chamber publication shares the story of Merrimack through colorful articles and glossy, bold images. About 10,000 copies of the Merrimack Visitor’s Guide have been produced and are being distributed at local hotels, businesses and the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.

The Visitor’s Guide includes upcoming events in town, along with unique restaurants, entertainment spots and shopping.

Courtemanche is so impressed with the guide, talks are already underway to expand on next year’s guide, which will be identified as a visitor and relocation guide, and be distributed as far away as Hooksett and Salem.

A fully interactive, online version of the magazine may be viewed at merrimackchamber.org.

Free print copies are available at Anheuser-Busch, Buckley Great Steaks, The Common Man, The Homestead, Merrimack Premium Outlets, Merrimack fire and police departments and more.
