Bail set at $1,000 for man charged with trespassing

Christopher Kean, 21, of 84 Hills Road, Auburn, complained Friday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division about a proposed cash/surety bail on a criminal trespass charge.

Kean was arrested Thursday for trespassing in a Hanover Street vacant and unsafe building with padlocks on the doors.

“I've got two co-defendants that got PR (personal recognizance) bail,” said Kean, who also said: “I've been out of trouble for two years.”

Well, almost two years — if you count only felonies as “trouble.”

Police prosecutor Steven Mangone, who had sought $2,000 cash/surety bail, said Kean's criminal record also includes a previous trespass conviction that was negotiated down to a violation, with a suspended sentence, and an operating after suspension violation in January.

Judge William Lyons set bail at $1,000 cash/surety, but that will take effect only if Kean's probation officer lifts a 72-hour hold in connection with a felony reckless conduct conviction. Kean and his father, also named Christopher, were arrested Aug. 30, 2011, after exchanging gunfire with a man on Wilson Street.

Trial was set for Nov. 27

Pawned items were stolen

Nicole Carrion 18, of 22 Cypress St., Salem, pleaded innocent Friday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division to two charges of receiving stolen property and one of theft by deception.

Carrion is accused of having in her possession July 2 a silver iPod and a gold and diamond ring reported stolen from a residence. The theft charge accuses her of obtaining $60 for the stolen ring from a pawn shop.

Bail was continued at $1,000 personal recognizance and trial was set for Oct. 31.

Old protective order warrant

A city man arrested early Friday on a 2006 warrant for violation of a domestic violence protective order was also charged with possession of a controlled drug.

Police said Wilfredo Soto, 34, of 101 Pearl St., had marijuana in his possession in the Manchester Police Department booking area after his arrest on the 2006 warrant.

Soto is accused of leaving a note on a woman's vehicle on Grove Street June 6, 2006, in violation of the order that was in effect from 2004 until 2011.

Soto asked why the warrant wasn't executed when he was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated in Concord in 2009, but no one in court Friday knew the answer.

Bail was set at $500 cash/surety and trial was set for Nov. 28.

Transportation provider

Ryan Larrow, 24, of 150 Brook St., could enter no plea Friday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division to a felony charge of criminal liability to robbery.

Larrow, whose license is suspended, is accused of providing transportation to a robbery Monday.

Police prosecutor Steven Mangone requested $20,000 cash/surety bail for Larrow, saying his criminal record includes robbery, forgery and violation of probation.

Judge William Lyons set bail at the requested amount. A probable cause hearing on the felony charge was set for Aug. 29 and trial on the second offense driving after suspension charge was set for Nov. 28.

Robbery victim is charged

The victim of a home invasion robbery on Wilson Street in May 2011 was arraigned Friday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division on a felony charge of conspiracy to purchase drugs.

Ronald Blodgett, 27, now of 2 Iris Drive, Merrimack, is accused of arranging to purchase Percocet pills from a man who, with two other masked men, instead broke into the apartment, bound Blodgett with duct tape and plastic ties, and threatened him with guns before stealing cash and drugs.

The woman who brokered the Percocet purchase had previously lived in the building and provided the access code to the building and a key to Blodgett's apartment, which was found in the door, according to police.

Blodgett's bail was continued at $5,000 cash/surety and a probable cause hearing was set for Sept. 12.

Accused of stalking

Alexander Cooper, 43, pleaded innocent Friday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division to a stalking charge that alleges he was in an apartment at 628 Second St. with his girlfriend, in violation of bail conditions on July criminal mischief charges.

Cooper had been free on $1,000 personal recognizance bail on the mischief charges. Judge William Lyons set bail on the stalking charge at $3,000 cash/surety, with the same bail conditions barring contact with Jennifer Spaulding and barring him from the Second Street address. Trial on the new charge will be Oct. 18, the same day as the mischief charges.
