PORTSMOUTH - Dozens of underage drinkers were detained following two parties on Saturday.

After receiving information that underage individuals may be consuming alcohol at the residence, police say 27 underage individuals were detained at the scene. Eight people received a summons for illegal possession of alcohol. Those detained individuals under the age of 18 were released to a parent.
A Portsmouth Fire Department ambulance responded and treated one individual until they could be released to their parent. Officers from Rye, Greenland and the State Police also responded to assist. During the incident officers also responded to the Portsmouth Hospital emergency room where a juvenile suffering from alcohol poisoning had been dropped off by “friends.” That juvenile was treated and released to her parents.
Portsmouth police say Darien Star Brea, 18, of 12 Simonds Road was taken into custody and charged with facilitating a drug or underage alcohol house party and unlawful possession of alcohol. She was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Court on September 17. Other arrests and charges are expected.
