Andy Schachat On the Run: These questions need answers
How well do you know the New Hampshire road race/triathlon scene? You can find out this week when you take the Andy On The Run Granite State road race/triathlon trivia test. Questions are listed first followed by the answers (yes, some are easy and some will leave you saying, “I haven't got a clue.” That's what trivia is).

Now the answers:
1. John J. Kelley won the Boston Marathon in 1957 and the Mount Washington Road Race in 1961. Jackie Garreau won the Boston Marathon in 1980 (the Rosie Ruiz incident) and is a three time winner of Mount Washington (1989, 1994, 1996).
2. The Timberman Triathlon Festival in Gilford, held every August, brings in well over 2,000 athletes. The race brings in close to 1,500 athletes.
3. The Market Square Day 10K, held every June in Portsmouth
4. Lynn Jennings lived in Newmarket and won bronze in the 10,000 meters. Cathy O'Brien lived in Durham (and still does) and finished 10th in the marathon.
5. The Hollis Fast 5K saw Nate Jenkins finish in 13:46 in 2007. Ask runners who were there about the horse that got loose from its pen and chased Jenkins
6. In 2010, Alene Reta won the Cigna/Elliot 5K in 13:53, the fastest 5K ever in the Granite State (per USATF standards).
7. The Cranmore Hill Climb in North Conway has been a U.S. Mountain Running Championship race on a number of occasions in the past ten years.
