Mahan fires 71 to lead Men’s City Golf event
Patrick Mahan is the leader after the first day of the Manchester Men’s City Golf Championship at Intervale Country Club in Manchester on Saturday.
Mahan, of Intervale, shot a 1-over 71 and has a one-shot lead over four other golfers heading into day two today at Manchester Country Club. Pat Gocklin, unattached, and Barry Hammer, of Intervale, each shot a 72 and join Mahan in the last trio to tee off at 2 p.m.
Defending champion Dave Larrivee, of Manchester Country Club, and 12-time city winner Dan Arvanitis, of Derryfield Country Club, also carded 72s. They tee off with Intervale’s Austin Fox (73) in the second-to-last trio at 1:51.
Derryfield Country Club hosts the last round of the tournament on Monday.
