Dave Larrivee takes 3-stroke lead into finale of city men's tourney

Defending champion Dave Larrivee enjoyed a little home cooking Sunday.
Larrivee, of Manchester Country Club, will take a three-stroke lead into today's final round of the Manchester City Golf championship. The final round of the three-day tournament will be held today beginning at 10 a.m. at the Derryfield CC as the field of 64 was trimmed to the low 40 players. The cut was 164.
Larrivee (72-72-144) shot one-over 72 at his home course Sunday and leads David Sherborne of Derryfield CC (75-72-147).
In third place with a 72-76-148 tally is Barry Hammer of Intervale CC, followed by Austin Fox (73-76-149) of Intervale and Dan Arvanitis of Derryfield (72-78-150), the 12-time city champion.
Peter Mahan of Intervale, who was the first-round leader by one shot with a 71, was 11-over Sunday and tumbled into 10th place with a 71-82-153.
Patrick Gocklin of Derryfield CC, who was in a second-place tie with a 72 after Saturday's round at Intervale, carded a 13-over 84 score to fall out of title contention.
Larrivee won the Manchester CC club title this summer and Arvanitis was the club champ at Derryfield.
Seven shots behind Larrivee is Intervale club champion Ken Prince (74-77-151), who is tied with Ryan Tombs (79-72-151) of Manchester Country Club.
