Police: Manchester man cash stole from his parents, robbed elderly woman
MANCHESTER — A city man is accused of stealing cash and jewelry from his parents and robbing a 76-year-old woman.
Brian Gagne, 24, of 125 Dewey St., was arrested later Thursday night at a Beech Hill Avenue residence on warrants charging him with receiving stolen property, theft by deception and robbery.
His parents contacted police on June 24 after discovering money and jewelry missing from their home. Police said Gagne later pawned the jewelry at a local shop.
Gagne is also accused in the Aug. 19 robbery of an elderly woman on Laurel Street. Police said the woman reported a man came to her apartment door, began talking to her and then grabbed an envelope containing cash that was in her shirt pocket.
Lt. Maureen Tessier said detectives identified Gagne as the robber because neighbors knew him as someone who frequently visited other residents of the Laurel Street building.
