CONCORD — A former Seacoast-area bus driver has pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual exploitation of children relating to assaults against three disabled students who were passengers on his bus.

John Allen Wright, 46, faces up to 160 years in jail for the federal charges after he pleaded guilty at the United States District Court in Concord on Tuesday.

Investigators recovered videos Wright, a Milton resident, shot using cameras hidden in a pen and sunglasses to record his sexual encounters, along with everyday interactions with students riding on the bus.

They also found thousands of child sexual assault images on Wright's computer and evidence linking Wright to the production of the videos.

Wright was indicted in Oct. 2011, following an investigation by New Hampshire's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Prosecutors say two of the boys were assaulted in New Hampshire between Nov. 2010 and April 30, 2011. A third boy from Maine was allegedly assaulted in July, 2011.

Police raided Wright's home and arrested him Sept. 1, 2011.

Wright is scheduled for sentencing on Dec. 20. He faces a minimum mandatory prison term of 15 years on each of five counts of the six-count indictment and a total maximum prison term of up to 160 years. He will remain in custody until his sentencing.

In addition to the ICAC Task Force, the FBI, the New London Police Department, the Dover Police Department and the Kittery, Maine Police Department contributed to the investigation and prosecution.

Local prosecutors have brought state charges as well, but have waited for the outcome in the federal case.

The pleas were announced by John Kacavas, U.S. Attorney for New Hampshire.
