A lopsided loss to Minnesota of the FBS cost the University of New Hampshire a few spots in the latest FCS football polls announced Monday.

The Wildcats (1-1) dropped four spots to 18 in the Sports Network Poll and six places to 18 in the Coaches Poll. North Dakota State remained perched atop both polls.

UNH, which lost 44-7 to the Golden Gophers in Minneapolis, returns to Durham for its home opener this Saturday against Central Connecticut State.

Golf

Landry lifts FPU: Senior Ian Landry of Loudon was one of two golfers to break par, helping host Franklin Pierce University finish fourth out of eight teams during the two-day Fall Invitational that wrapped up Monday at Bretwood’s North Course in Keene.

Landry put together rounds of 69-74 to finish 1-under, one shot behind medalist Ramon Ventura-Camp of American International College. AIC topped the field, finishing five strokes ahead of Bentley, seven in front of Southern New Hampshire and 14 ahead of the host team. SNHU’s Scott Underhill of Bedford was third in individual competition, finishing at 2-over 146.

Hawks finish third: Tyler Fay anchored a solid showing for the St. Anselm golf team, which finished third out of 10 teams at the Bowdoin Invitational. The Hawks finished four shots behind second-place Husson and 16 shots behind the winning scored posted by Williams. Fay finished seventh overall with rounds of 79 on Saturday and 75 on Sunday.

Honors

UNH pair takes AE volleyball honors: Morgan Thatcher and Taylor Dunklau were named the America East player and setter of the week, respectively, after helping the University of New Hampshire volleyball team go 2-1 at the Holly Young Invitational the Wildcats hosted during the weekend. Thatcher, a junior right-side hitter, averaged 4.31 kills per set; Dunklau, a sophomore, averaged 10.85 assists per set to earn her third straight setter of the week honor.

Streaking Flately named rookie of week: Red-shirt freshman Meg Flately of UNH was named the America East rookie of the week in field hockey after extending her scoring streak to three games. Flately is second in the conference in scoring with four goals.

UNH booter earns rookie honor: Freshman midfielder Kirstyn Corder was named America East rookie of the week in women’s soccer after racking up two goals and two assists in her first six games. Corder made her college debut by scoring the game-winning goal and assisting on another in a 2-0 win over Fairfield.

Ivy League honors Dartmouth’s Brush: Big Green senior forward Emma Brush was named Ivy League player of the week in women’s soccer after scoring three goals in the team’s first two games. It was the first player of the week honor for a Dartmouth player since 2008.

Worra’s shutout streak earns AE honor: UNH goalie Travis Worra was named the America East co-player of the week in men’s soccer after shutting out a pair of opponents. The sophomore has three shutouts and allowed one goal in four starts.
