De Blois asks for recount in Executive Council race

CONCORD – The second-place finisher in the Executive Council District 4 Republican primary wants a recount.

Sen. Tom De Blois of Manchester finished 98 votes behind winner Robert Burns of Bedford in the three-way race for the Republican nomination to the council seat being vacated by Raymond Wieczorek.

In official results from the Secretary of State’s Office, Burns finished with 7,140 votes, De Blois with 7,042 and Chuck Rolecek with 6,534.

The recount could take place as early as Friday if De Blois files the necessary paperwork today, said Secretary of State Bill Gardner.
