HUDSON — The fire department was called to a local paper-shredding company for the second time in two days.

Firefighters responded to a fire box alarm from Cintas at 1 Wall St. around 3:39 a.m. Saturday, according to the Hudson Fire Department. No smoke was visible, but firefighters discovered smoke once inside the building, according to a press release.

A small fire was discovered inside a shredded paper bailing unit. A hose line was stretched into the building. The fire was contained to the unit and extinguished by 4:31 a.m. Fire crews remained on the scene until about 4:51 a.m. to vent the building.

The cause is undetermined and being investigated by the department's Fire Prevention Division.

On Friday, the building's occupants used a fire extinguisher and the machine's fire suppression system to put out flames before firefighters responded to a call. The plexi-glass windows on the baler machine had melted in that incident.
