Power Poll: Pinkerton returns to No. 2 behind Exeter
Only one team remains in its previous spot in the latest New Hampshire Union Leader/WGIR/WMUR High School Football Power Poll, and that’s No. 1 Exeter.
The Blue Hawks (3-0) assured themselves of remaining a unanimous No. 1 pick by routing previously No. 2 Manchester Central, 49-0 Friday night, at the same time greasing the skids for the Little Green’s drop to No. 6 (tied with Nashua North).
The new No. 2 is the old No. 2, Pinkerton Academy of Derry, which has won two straight since its season-opening loss to Exeter. The Astros who had been ranked second before dipping to No. 3 last week, moved back up on the strength of their 42-7 romp over previously No. 8 Nashua North, which dropped out of the top 10.
Also dropping from the rankings was previously No. 10 Trinity of Manchester, which suffered a 36-14 drubbing at the hands of Division IV rival Plymouth Regional.
Re-entering the top 10, meanwhile, was Concord, at No. 9, while Souhegan of Amherst took over the 10th spot.
