Dartmouth women earn soccer victory
Freshman Corey Delaney notched her first collegiate goal just 11 minutes into the game as the Dartmouth women's soccer team defeated Fordham, 3-0 Sunday in Bronx, N.Y.
In it's last two games Dartmouth has outscored the competition, 6-0, and has now won two consecutive games for the first time since the 2010 season. Marina Moschitto scored a goal and took a team-high five shots while Libby Hamlin added four shots. Dartmouth (4-2-0) registered a season-high 25 shots, including 11 shots on goal. Goalkeeper Tatiana Saunders picked up her second consecutive shutout with four saves. Chrissy Lozier capped the scoring by nailing a penalty shot.
New England College 3, Rivier 0: In Nashua, the Pilgrims got two first-half goals from sophomore Emmanuel Arteaga. Junior Rob Lucas netted his third season goal. Senior goaltender Matthew St. Peter had 14 saves for 0-3-1 Rivier while NEC junior goaltender Robert Millard helped his team to its fourth season win.
Dartmouth 1, Missouri State 0: In Albuquerque, N.M., Alex Adelabu's goal in the 106th minute in double overtime was the winner. The win snapped Missouri State's seven-game undefeated streak. Dartmouth evened its record at 3-3
Bellarmine University 3, St. Anselm 0: In Manchester, Hawks goalie Megan Sullivan didn't make a save in 40:15 while freshman teammate Shauna Whittemore of Bennington stopped both shots she faced in her first 29:45 of collegiate play.
St. Anselm 8, Le Moyne 1: In Manchester, Nick Schwab, Andrew Overton and Kyle White each won their first career singles match for the 1-1 Hawks.
Franklin Pierce 6, Regis 3: In Weston, Mass., Jared Taylor of Pelham won at both first singles and second doubles, while Mikie Connor won at both fifth singles and third doubles for the 1-2 Ravens.
St. Anselm: In North Dartmouth, Mass., Allyn Doyle of Merrimack placed 27th overall to lead the Hawks' women's team to a 10th-place finish in the 38-team varsity 5K at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational on Saturday.
