Police allege Somersworth pair selling heroin
SOMERSWORTH — Two men were arrested after allegedly selling heroin from their home on Ringer Drive Friday.
Mathew Sauvageau, 33, and Jamie Eaton, 40, both of 3 Ringer Drive, were charged with sale of a controlled drug and possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.
Detective Sgt. John Kelly said Somersworth police assisted members of the state Attorney General's Drug Task Force, which draws members from departments across the state.
Investigators armed with a warrant arrested both men after allegedly discovering more than 100 grams of heroin, more than $50,000 in cash and several firearms – including two rifles and a few handguns – at the residence, Kelly said.
Sauvageau was held in Strafford County Jail in Dover on $50,000 cash bail following his arrest. Eaton, who was released on $25,000 personal recognizance, is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 4 in Dover, Kelly said.
During his video arraignment in Dover District Court Monday morning, Sauvageau entered no plea to the felony charge.
Bail was reduced to $10,000 cash. He is scheduled to appear at a probable cause hearing Sept. 24 at 10 a.m.
Possession of drugs with intent to sell is a Class B felony punishable by 3½ to 7 years in prison, if convicted.
