Down power lines cause traffic snarl at Route 101, Exit 1 in Manchester
MANCHESTER - Wires were down in the area of the Exit 1 ramp at Route 101 West, backing up traffic on the highway and the Londonderry Turnpike earlier Tuesday morning, according to a state Department of Transportation official.
The incident happened about 6:20 a.m. and involved a tractor-trailer truck. It was cleared by 8 a.m. Police were on the scene and the Exit 1 ramp at Route 101 West was closed, a state Traffic Management Center official said.
State officials were asking motorists to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. The area has now been cleared.
