Man charged with DUI after Rochester accident
ROCHESTER – A local man is charged with driving under the influence after being involved in a crash along Route 108 near Crockett Street Monday evening.
The crash happened about 8:30 p.m. after a northbound Dodge Neon, driven by Duane Weeks, 51, of Rochester, rear-ended a Nissan Rogue driven by Christine Garcia, 45, of Rochester, on Rochester Hill Road (Route 108), according to police.
Officers determined the accident occurred as Garcia slowed to make a lefthand turn at Crockett Street. There were no injuries, and both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene.
As a result, Rochester Hill Road was closed for a short time, police said.
Weeks is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail is $1,500 personal recognizance pending an Oct. 22 arraignment in 7th Circuit Court, Rochester District Division.
