Antique Wrecker Stolen MANCHESTER, NH- On Monday, September 17, 2012, at about 8:00 AM, Manchester Police responded to US Hydraulics at 229 Shasta Street for a report of a stolen vehicle. On arrival, Officer Penttinen met with the owner who reported that an antique tow truck had been stolen from the fenced-in yard at the business. He believed the theft occurred some time over the weekend. According to the owner, the tow truck had been parked in the yard, along with a number of other vehicles and equipment. When he arrived at work Monday morning, he noticed the vehicle missing. Further investigation led to the discovery of a hole cut into the fence and a bolt missing from the secured gate, allowing it to be opened. MANCHESTER — Thieves broke in to U.S. Hydraulics at 229 Shasta St. over the weekend and stole a 1955 International Harvester Co. wrecker valued at $20,000.
The owner noticed the antique tow truck missing from the fenced-in yard Monday morning. He discovered a hole cut in the fence and a bolt missing from the secured gate, which allowed it to be opened. The gray truck has NH antique license plate 5424.
Police ask anyone with information to call 668-8711. Anonymous tips for cash rewards may be made to Manchester Crimeline at 624-4040.
