HAVERHILL — A 25-year-old Campton man has been sentenced to 3½ to 7 years in state prison after his conviction for the felonious sexual assault of a teenage victim who was 14 or 15 years old when, according to prosecutors, the assaults occurred.

As part of a plea agreement that resolved five charges against him, Greg Goodwin pleaded guilty Aug. 21 in Grafton County Superior Court to two counts of felonious sexual assault.

Judge Timothy A. Vaughan issued the sentence on one count, and handed down an identical consecutive sentence on the second count, which he suspended for 10 years, provided Goodwin maintains good behavior and complies with all court orders, according to records on file in the North Haverhill Court.

Goodwin will also be eligible to have an additional two years of his minimum sentence suspended, if he completes a sex-offender treatment program. He was also given credit for 19 days pre-trial confinement.

A Grafton County grand jury last December handed up an aggravated felonious sexual assault indictment and four indictments for felonious sexual assault against Goodwin who, according to prosecutors, was 23 when he committed the crimes in Campton and Holderness.

Assistant Grafton County Attorney Paul Fitzgerald was the prosecutor. Goodwin was represented by attorney Tony Hutchins of the New Hampshire Public Defender’s office in Orford.

Upon his release from prison, Goodwin faces numerous conditions, including that he register as a sex offender, have no unsupervised contact with minors, not possess firearms, submit to random drug testing, and have no contact with the victim or her family.
