H.S. Sports Roundup: Londonderry boys boot Keene
Londonderry scored three goals in less than five minutes in the second half to upend host Keene 4-1 in boys’ soccer on Wednesday. Alex Hall scored off a Nate Gaw assist in the 74th minute to put Londonderry ahead 2-1. Rob Hart added goals in the 76th and 79th minutes as the Lancers (6-0) remained undefeated. Bobby Krause saved two to earn the victory in net.
Hanover 3, Merrimack 0: Ian Strohbehn scored twice, his first just 38 seconds into the match, to lift Hanover (6-1) to its third-straight win on Wednesday against Merrimack (3-3-1). Duncan Piper saved four in his fourth shutout of the season.
Pinkerton 2, Concord 0: Owen Murray and Devin Moore scored the only goals of the game and Alex Horan recorded five saves for his third shutout of the season at Derry.
Souhegan 1, ConVal 0: Devan Casey scored in the 39th minute off a feed from Matt Hopfenspirger to give Souhegan (5-3) the win at home in Amherst on Wednesday.
Timberlane 4, Bishop Guertin 0: Benjamin Enos scored a hat trick to lead the way for Timberlane (4-1-2) of Plaistow at Nashua. Matthew Plante scored the fourth Owls goal.
Sunapee 2, Epping 0: Noah Skarin scored once and assisted on Kevin Parsons’ goal as Sunapee beat visiting Epping.
Girls’ soccer
Campbell 3, Raymond 0: Erika Guilbeault and Sydney Crema scored less than 90 seconds apart on assists by Nikki Golden as part of a three-goal second half to lift Campbell of Litchfield (5-2) past visiting Raymond (3-3). Heather Baron had five saves in the shutout.
Sunapee 3, Epping 1: Rose Webb scored in the second minute and Sunapee held Epping scoreless until the final minute of play.
Londonderry 5, Keene 2: Aliza Simpson scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Lancers (7-1). Lydia Simmons had a goal and assist and Kayleen Walberg added two helpers for Londonderry.
Field hockey
Derryfield 7, Pelham 0: Sarah Porat became the fourth Derryfield School of Manchester player to record a hat trick this season to lead the Cougars (7-1) past Pelham.
Manchester Memorial 2, Bedford 1: Meaghan Williams scored with nine minutes left to lift Memorial (5-4) past host Bedford. Ashley Abad had the lone goal for Bedford (2-5).
Pinkerton 3, Concord 0: Julie Saltamartini scored a goal and assisted on another to lead Pinkerton (6-1) Wednesday. Kaylie DeCosmo and Rachel Charewicz scored the other goals and Brianne Torre assisted on two of the tallies.
Londonderry 3, Keene 0: Kylie McMullen scored a pair of goals and Jackie Curtin (goal) and Janelle Magoon (assist) chipped in for visiting Londonderry (5-2).
Salem 2, Dover 0: Lizzy Twomey and Erika Smith scored for host Salem (5-3) against Dover (3-4).
Timberlane 3, Bishop Guertin 2 (OT): Marsha Lange scored in overtime to lead Timberlane of Plaistow past host Bishop Guertin of Nashua (4-3). Molly Durreome saved 10 in net for the Owls (4-1-1).
