NHIAA Sports Roundup: Tremblay trick leads Grizzlies in girls' soccer
A hat trick from Michele Tremblay helped visiting Goffstown edge Portsmouth, 4-3, in girls' NHIAA soccer Friday.
Goffstown remained undefeated at 7-0 with the win.
Nicole Nanof scored the other Goffstown goal. Portsmouth (2-4-1) led 1-0 and got goals from Katie O'Brien, Charlie Prevost and Julia Luff.
Bedford 2, Nashua South 0: Jessica Joseph scored both goals to lead Bedford (6-1-1) and Brooke Barrett made six saves in net to record a shutout in Nashua.
Boys' soccer
Londonderry 3, Dover 1: Dylan Holland, Dominic Galluzzo and Rob Hart scored for the Lancers, who are 7-0. Aaron Esparza notched a late goal for visiting Dover (1-6-2).
Goffstown 2, Portsmouth 1: Mike Simons and Aleks Holm staked the Grizzlies (4-3) to a late 2-0 lead before a Romero Gutterez goal pulled Portsmouth (4-3-1) close with less than four minutes remaining.
Bedford 6, Nashua South 0: Undefeated Bedford (7-0) posted four goals in the first half and two more in the second at Stellos Stadium in Nashua. Marco Ibanez scored two of the Bulldogs' goals while Casey Schehl scored one and assisted on two others. Alex Lowe made 15 saves for South.
Central 3, Timberlane 0: Romeo Katanga scored in the first half and Keegan LaBerge and Anuj Kahdka scored second half goals as Central (5-2-1) picked up a road win at Timberlane (4-2-1) in Plaistow. Noah Edmunds made four saves for the shutout in goal for the Little Green. Tyler Schoppe made eight saves for the Owls.
Souhegan 2, Hollis/Brookline 2 (OT): At Amherst, the host Sabers (5-3-1) earned a draw in a back-and-forth game. Jake Laurent scored both H/B (5-0-3) goals and Kade Colen and Sam Leedy scored for Souhegan.
Field hockey
Plymouth 5, Goffstown 1: Ashley Stewart scored four goals and assisted the fifth to lead host Plymouth (6-2). Tori Florence scored the lone Grizzlies (2-6) goal.
Londonderry 1, Dover 0: At Dover, Jackie Curtin tipped in a corner pass from Brooke Tulley at 25:38 to push the Lancers (6-2) over the reeling Green Wave (3-5). Samantha Harris only had to make two saves in the shutout, while Emily Hillburn stopped 10 for Dover.
