Match used for reading light leads to Manchester fire
MANCHESTER — A woman trying to read late at night burned herself out of her home after the match she was using somehow set her sofa ablaze, according to fire officials.
Firefighters were called to 348 Sagamore St. at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday after the woman and her dog fled the home. The fire was under control by about 1:50 a.m.
The blaze burned out the single story ranch house, doing about $60,000 in damages, according to fire officials. The woman was uninjured in the fire, and no firefighters were injured either.
