Mall at Rockingham Park hosts job fair



SALEM — The Mall at Rockingham Park will be taking applications tonight to fill more than 500 seasonal part-time and full-time sales associate, stock, security, housekeeping and other positions.

Participating retailers in the second annual job fair include Macy's, Victoria's Secret, Banana Republic, Lord & Taylor, Pottery Barn and Pandora.

Retailers will accept applications and some will conduct on-the-spot interviews.

The majority of employers will be set up at Center Court and on the Lord & Taylor Court on Level 2. Other retailers will recruit from inside or in front of their stores.

Attendees can pick up an event guide at the mall's booth at Center Court.

Participating employers will be posted at Facebook.com/TheMallatRockingham Park or www.themallatrockinghampark.com. The mall recommends job seekers come “dressed for success” and have their resumes complete and available.

Film, forum present health care issues



MANCHESTER — New Hampshire Public Television and the Endowment for Health will present a free film screening and discussion Wednesday at UNH Manchester, to address health-care affordability, accessibility and quality in the state.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the third floor auditorium at 400 Commercial St. Parking is available in the Arms Lot behind UNH Manchester and is free after 5:30 p.m. Visit manchester.unh.edu/about/parking-directions for directions.

The PBS documentary “U.S. Health Care: The Good News,” will be shown, followed by a discussion featuring Stephen Ahnen, president of the N.H. Hospital Association; Mary Vallier-Kaplan, vice president, Endowment for Health; Amanda Grappone-Osmer, co-owner, Grappone Group and moderator Karen Ager, director of communications, Endowment for Health.

The screenings also will take place at 4 p.m. Oct. 9 in Moore Hall at the Filene Auditorium in Hanover; 7 p.m. Oct. 16 in the Mabel Brown Room of the Young Student Center at Keene State College; 3:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at Heritage Commons at Plymouth State University and at 1 p.m. Nov. 15 at the New Hampshire Public Television Broadcast Center in Durham.

Document shredding event set for Saturday



MANCHESTER — Hampshire First Bank is hosting free document shredding at its Manchester Banking Center, 80 Canal St., from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Participants are invited to help support Manchester Animal Shelter by donating money or items from the shelter's wish list, such as paper towels, disposable gloves, non-clumping cat litter, large and small dog biscuits, animal toys, newspapers and more.

Northeast Record Retention will handle document shredding and disposal.

Tourism summit draws Hassan, Lamontagne



CONCORD — Gubernatorial candidates Maggie Hassan and Ovide Lamontagne will attend the Gubernatorial Tourism Summit, scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 3 at the Grappone Center in Concord, organizers said.

Each candidate will have up to one hour to present their vision for New Hampshire as well as address questions prepared by members of the tourism community.

Nineteen statewide and regional tourism associations and chambers of commerce are hosting. For registration information, attendees should call their tourism organization.
