Police look for man they say stole guns
HAMPTON — Police are asking for the public's help in finding a 24-year-old man and some guns stolen from a local home.
Police said they got an arrest warrant for James L. Merrill, with no fixed address, last Wednesday for allegedly stealing guns from a local home.
Merrill told police he would turn himself in at the police department but never showed up, police said.
He was last seen driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with a New Hampshire license plate number 3280106, police said.
Anyone who spots Merrill should not confront him, police said, because he may have a gun with him.
Anyone with information about Merrill's whereabouts is asked to call Hampton police at 603-929-4444. Anonymous tips can be made through Crimeline for the Hamptons at 603-929-1222; or by email at hamptonscrimeline@yahoo.com
