20 vie for Manchester Charter Commission

MANCHESTER — Twenty city residents, many of them current or former politicians, have filed to run for the nine-person Manchester Charter Commission so far.

The commissioners, who will be elected in the November general election, will have a say in revising or rewriting the structure of city government. Any recommendations will have to be approved by voters.

The 20 are: David Scannell, Albert Jernigan, Edward Sapienza, Christine Martin, Eric F. Fisher Jr., Glenn RJ. Ouellette, Bill Couturier, Nicholas Pappas, Tim DiVenuti, Linda Garrish Thomas, Rich Girard, Kevan Phelan, Brian Desfosses, William Infantine, Michael Garrity, Edward Doyle, Matthew Swank, Amy Bradley, Maurice Pilotte and Kevin McCue.

The filing period opened Monday and will run until Oct. 5.
