Hampton police want your unused prescription drugs
HAMPTON — The police department is hosting a drug take-back program this weekend for residents who want to safely dispose of unused or expired prescription medications.
Police say they are hosting the event to combat recreational prescription use that can lead to accidental poisoning, overdose and abuse. Non-medical use of prescription drugs ranks second only to marijuana as the most common form of drug abuse in the U.S., police said.
The take-back program is happening on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the police station, located at 100 Brown Ave. in Hampton.
