College Sports Roundup: Auclair leads Franklin Pierce golfers to Penmen Invitational title
Individual medalist Brad Auclair shot an even-par round of 72 Tuesday at Canterbury Woods to help the Franklin Pierce men’s golf team complete a wire-to-wire win at the Penmen Invitational hosted by Southern New Hampshire University.
The Ravens won the two-day tournament by 12 strokes over runner-up SNHU. St. Anselm was third, 19 strokes off the winning pace, followed by St. Michael’s and St. Rose.
Auclair, a freshman, held a one-shot lead after an opening round 75 and pulled away with the tournament’s only even-par round. Runner-up Jason Lussier of St. Anselm was five shots behind, while FPC’s Ian Landry of Loudon was six shots back in third.
A pair of SNHU golfers, Nick Burke and Vince Kimball of Lebanon, were fourth and fifth, respectively.
