MONT VERNON -- Police are on the lookout for an armed man who broke into a home on Thursday afternoon and robbed and sexually assaulted a resident.

Police chief Kyle Aspinwall said the armed home invasion occurred on Brook Road at around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday. The suspect is a white male approximately 5-feet-7-inches to 5-feet-10-inches tall, wearing all black including a ski mask and gloves. He was armed with a handgun.

The man reportedly robbed the home on a rural dirt road and sexually assaulted a person inside. He then fled the scene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, Aspinwall said.
