Gilford budget proposal is 1.2 percent tax rate hike
GILFORD — Selectmen are recommending an $11.95 million budget for 2013, an increase from this year’s $11.36 million figure that would represent a 1.2 percent increase in tax rates after revenues are computed, town officials said.
Geoffrey Ruggles, the town’s finance director, said the increase is due to an $81,855 jump in costs for retirement funds for town employees.
The proposed budget does not include any layoffs, Ruggles said.
Revenues from town departments rose from $4.3 million to $4.8 million, he said.
