HAVERHILL — A Littleton man is facing a prison sentence after a Grafton County Superior Court jury found him guilty in the stabbing of a teenager last year in Littleton.

After a two-day trial, the jury returned guilty verdicts Thursday afternoon against Jusiah Oddis, 33, on charges of first-degree assault and criminal mischief.

Jurors found Oddis not guilty on a second count of first-degree assault.

The crimes are Class A felonies, each punishable by 7½ to 15 years in New Hampshire State Prison.

Sentencing is tentatively set for Nov. 13 in the North Haverhill court, pending completion of a pre-sentence investigation ordered by Judge Timothy J. Vaughan.

Oddis remains free on a $15,000 corporate surety bond, with conditions that include he avoid contact with the victim.

Littleton police arrested Oddis on Sept. 20, 2011, after they received several 911 calls about 8:45 a.m. reporting an altercation that involved a knife at Parker Village.

Police detained Oddis and recovered a 15-inch knife with a 9½-inch blade they said he used to stab Jaison Cryans, 17, “causing serious bodily injury to his arm and/or chest cavity,” according to the assault indictment.

“It was determined there had been an ongoing dispute between Oddis and the injured party,” police said in a news release issued at the time.

The victim required treatment of “potentially serious injuries” at Littleton Regional Hospital.

The criminal mischief conviction was in connection with damage Oddis did to a town police cruiser after he was arrested.

According to the police, Oddis kicked out the rear passenger side door window of a cruiser.

Assistant Grafton County Attorney Jack Bell prosecuted Oddis, who was defended by attorney James Brooks of the state Public Defender’s Office in Orford.
