At Exeter, quarterback Ethan Joyce controlled the reins on Exeter's clock-eating offense and capped the scoring with a 33-yard run in the fourth quarter of Friday night's 28-0 win over Concord in Division I football.
The Blue Hawks posted their second shutout of the season, improving to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in Division I.
Both teams fumbled and struggled to maintain possession in the first half, but Exeter sprang Tyler Grant for a 35-yard touchdown at the end of the first quarter.
The Blue Hawks struck again before halftime as Colby Swane rushed for a 13-yard touchdown with 37 seconds remaining, taking a 14-0 lead into halftime. Exeter opened the second half with a 13-play scoring drive, working into Concord territory until Jamie Vogt squirted free and motored 39 yards for a touchdown. Concord dropped to 3-2 overall (2-2 Division I).
Division II
Keene 6, Spaulding 0: At Rochester, Lucas Luopa hit Matt Delvecchio for a 22-yard pass as time expired in the first half for the game's only score.
Luopa was 6-of-11 for 101 yards, which was just enough to help the Blackbirds (4-1) overcome their eight fumbles. Spaulding (1-4) was unable to capitalize on their opportunities.
The closest the Red Raiders got to scoring was a failed fourth-and-2 chance on the 4-yard line after recovering the opening kickoff after Keene fumbled at its own 28-yard line. Trey Scott picked up 81 yards on 18 carries for Spaulding.
Division IV
Kennett 18, Hanover 7: At Conway, Kennett turned in another strong defensive performance and raised its Division IV record to 3-2.
The Eagles have won their last three games, and have allowed 14 points in those three victories.
The loss dropped Hanover to 2-3. The Marauders have lost three in a row.
