NHIAA Roundup: LaBerge scores 2, Central soccer wins
Keegan LaBerge scored twice on volleys to Central past Memorial, 2-1, in Division I boys’ soccer play on Saturday at Gill Stadium.
LaBerge scored either side of halftime. His 19th-minute goal came on a break where he was able to chip a volley over the keeper. His 48th-minute goal came when he volleyed a cross into the top corner.
Memorial (2-6) got one back in the 77th minute through Trevor Fauklner, who belted a loose ball from 20 yards out.
Central (6-3-1) put 10 shots on the frame, forcing eight saves from Crusaders keeper Gary Archambault. Central’s Noah Edmonds and David Gagnon combined to stop four Memorial shots.
Hopkinton 8, Hillsboro-Deering 0: At Hopkinton, Doug Fleury had a quartet of points on two goals and two assists, while Steven Auger and Matt French each added a pair of scores. Freshman Nick Fleury also scored for Hopkinton (10-0), his first varsity points in his first varsity game. Rob Ferguson earned the shutout with three saves, while Brett Bennett stopped seven for Hillsboro-Deering (4-6).
Timberlane 2, Salem 1: Jeff Edgecomb and Gunnar Ericsson scored goals for the Owls (6-2-3) in the victory.

Goffstown 7, John Stark 0: Tori Florence had two goals and Molly Norton had two assists to help the Grizzlies pick up a road win in Weare Saturday afternoon.
