Derry police collect 147 pounds of unused drugs

DERRY -- The Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Agency collected five containers of unwanted prescription drugs totalling 147 pounds at Hood Commons on Saturday, according to police Capt. Vernon Thomas.

Citizens were able to bring their unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs for disposal with no questions asked. Thomas said the disposed drugs are tracked by weight.
