Collection of expired, unused drugs nets 178 pounds in Nashua

NASHUA — City police collected 178.1 pounds of prescription medication during the National Take Back Initiative held on Saturday.

Expired, unused and unwanted controlled substances were turned in without question at various police departments throughout the country this past weekend, an effort to remove potentially dangerous substances from homes.

The Nashua Police Department partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration for Saturday's effort.
