College Roundup: Harvard tips UNH 2-1 in women's soccer
Emily Mosbacher’s second half goal lifted Harvard University past the University of New Hampshire 2-1 in a women’s soccer encounter in Durham on Tuesday. Harvard improved to 4-3-2 while the Wildcats fell to 3-7-2.
The Wildcats took the 1-0 lead in the 27th minute as Tara Fraprie scored with assists going to Meghan Ledwith and Monique LaMotte. Harvard got the equalizer at the 36:38 mark when Peyton Johnson scored an unassisted goal, her second of the season. Johnson assisted on the winning goal in the second half.
Field hockey
Southern Maine 4, Plymouth State 2: In Gorham, Maine, USM led 4-0 in the second half before PSU rallied with two goals by sophomore Kristen Morris. The Panthers fall to 6-4 overall and 4-2 in the Little East.
Golf
St. Anselm: In Endicott, N.Y., the Hawks behind Tyler Fay’s two-day score of 152 (77-75-152) placed sixth out of 11 teams at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
Honors
UNH: After a solid performance at the Paul Short Invitational, freshman Laura Rose Donegan of the women’s cross country team was named the America East performer of the week. In the women’s 6k race, she finished 25th in 21 minutes flat.
Women’s tennis
Colby-Sawyer 7, Lyndon 2: In Lyndon Center, Vt., the Chargers improved it North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) record to 8-0. In doubles, top seeds Claire Toffey and Liz Lincoln earned an 8-2 win while the No. 2 team of Donna Gordon and Kathleen Rogers posted an 8-5 win.
