SALEM — Police are offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest in the Aug. 24 fire that destroyed playground equipment at Haigh Elementary School.
Firefighters were called to the School Street playground around 9 p.m. finding the wooden equipment fully engulfed in flames, according to police.
Police said on Thursday they are still investigating the case, and hope the offer of a reward might lead to an arrest. Fire officials doused the blaze in about 20 minutes but concluded the equipment was a total loss. The playground was installed about 15 years ago.
Crimeline of Southern New Hampshire is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and successful prosecution of the person or persons involved in the fire.
