Portsmouth woman falls, carried off trail
HART’S LOCATION — A Portsmouth woman was carried off a slippery Kendron Flume Trail after injuring her knee Thursday, state Fish and Game Department Sgt. Brian Abrams said.
Shaun McEachern, 64, and her husband, Paul, began hiking about 11 a.m. Thursday and, after visiting a waterfall, were returning to the trail head when McEachern slipped and dislocated her knee, Abrams said. Her husband hiked back to the Willey House state park office and rescuers from the Fish and Game Department and the Bartlett-Jackson Fire Department and Ambulance service carried her three-quarters of a mile to an ambulance about 3:45 p.m., he said.
She was taken to Conway Memorial Hospital in North Conway for treatment.
