Francestown woman dead in vehicle pulled from pond

FRANCESTOWN - A Francestown woman died Friday when her vehicle was found submerged in a pond off Dodge Hill Road.

According to New Hampshire State Police Troop B, a witness reported observing tire tracks leading to the pond just after 5 p.m.

"Due to the lack of visibility in the water, nothing was observed from around the pond. Further investigation led to the discovery of a vehicle in the pond."

The body of Bambi Bodnar, 59, of Francestown, was found inside when the vehicle was pulled from the water.

The vehicle appears to have entered the pond from a driveway. Divers located the vehicle in 15 feet of water in the small, man-made pond, after approximately 45 minutes of searching.

Anyone with information can contact Trooper Mark Dore at 603-666-3333 at the NH State Police – Troop B Barracks, Bedford.

Emergency responders from Francestown and New Boston responded to the scene.
